Videographer opportunity with Point North

Point North is looking for a videographer to help us tell the stories of lives changed, communities strengthened, and futures made brighter.

We’re looking for a videographer!

As we gear up to celebrate our 30th anniversary in 2025, we’re on a mission to tell the stories that matter most—stories of lives changed, communities strengthened, and futures made brighter.

To help us do that, we’d like to work with a talented videographer to join us on this exciting journey and bring these stories to life through compelling social media content.

Over the past three decades, Point North has been a force for good across County Durham and Tees Valley, awarding grants that make a real difference to people and places.

Now, we’re looking to highlight the impact of this work, inspiring new donors and supporters to join us while celebrating the communities that make it all possible.

With our video content we want to:

  • Shine a spotlight on incredible people and projects.
  • Showcase the immediate and long-term benefits of grantmaking.
  • Attract new donors who want to support local causes.
  • Build awareness of Point North and our work.

Skills required

We’re looking for a freelance videographer or agency with these attributes:

  • Social media expertise: You know what works on platforms like Instagram, Facebook, and LinkedIn, and can tailor content to maximise engagement.
  • A knack for storytelling: You can connect with community groups, donors, and stakeholders, documenting authentic, inspiring stories that resonate.
  • Personable and organised: Your interpersonal skills help you build rapport with everyone you meet, and you’re able to juggle multiple projects with ease.
  • Flexibility: You’re adaptable, ready to seize ad-hoc opportunities to capture powerful content.

What you'll do

Over the course of one year, we would like you to work closely with our marketing team to:

  • Visit community groups and projects funded by Point North to document their outcomes and impact.
  • Interview donors and supporters to share their motivations for giving and the difference they’ve made.
  • Create a steady stream of short, engaging videos for social media, highlighting stories of change and encouraging new support.
  • Align all content with Point North’s refreshed branding and messaging.
  • Help us tell deeper, more resonant stories that inspire action.

You’ll need your own equipment, public liability insurance, and a full, clean driving licence to travel across County Durham and Tees Valley.

The total fee for the year is £8,000 + VAT – the exact number of outputs (videos) can be discussed and defined at the contracting stage.
